September 16, 2010 - Legal Updates Affecting Long Term Care Programs
Program Summary: This workshop will provide participants with up-to-date information on long-term care and disability community programs, legal updates to Federal and State rules pertaining to long-term care, and advocacy services. A diverse group of presenters representing legal programs, DSHS and advocacy services will be available to answer questions and share valuable strategies for ensuring that persons needing long-term care services are provided all necessary options for care.
Presenters: Barbara Isenhour, a principal in the firm Isenhour Bleck and a Washington State elderlaw expert, will headline this event, discussing 'Legal Updates affecting Long Term Care programs.' Wayna Franklin, Home and Community Services, will present an overview of HCS and how to obtain services. Huy Nguyen of the NW Justice Project and and Gillian Dutton of the Seattle University Public Benefit Advocacy Project will provide an overview of advocacy programs and how to access them.
Time: 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
